This feature has greatly helped reduce the size and weight compared to previous versions of the focal length. Along with the compact build, the lens is equipped with exceptional features that contribute to the overall impressive performance of the lens. The design of this super-telephoto lens makes it compatible with FX-format Nikon F-mount cameras and DX models, where it provides a 750mm equivalent focal length range.
The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Telephoto Lens offers an equivalent focal length range of 500mm, with an aperture range spanning from f/5.6 to f/32. With a strong optical design of 19 elements in 11 groups, the lens also features one Phase Fresnel element and three extra-low dispersion elements. These elements work together to cut down chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, thus improving overall image sharpness, clarity, and colour fidelity.
Every element of the lens flaunts the Nano Crystal Coat as well as a Super Integrated Coating, which minimises surface and internal reflections, greatly reducing the effects of lens flare and ghosting
